AMELIA G. JACKSON, LCSW - SECRETARY
Amelia G. Jackson is a California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), private practice owner, and the Secretary of The Purpose Bridge Inc., where she helps advance mission-driven leadership and community impact. Amelia is known for bridging wellness and leadership—empowering individuals, communities, and teams in building resilience and capacity, navigating major transitions, and staying anchored in purpose, even in seasons of heaviness.
Her experience spans multiple contexts, including community-based and nonprofit work, public and charter education systems, and health care settings. Across these spaces, she has helped develop trauma-informed, culturally responsive approaches that strengthen access, belonging, and long-term wellness for historically underserved, underrepresented, and underresourced communities. Amelia brings a grounded, systems-aware lens to leadership—bridging her clinical training and lived experience to connect emotional health, organizational sustainability, and community empowerment through strategies that are sustainable, culturally sensitive, and equity-informed.
A proud graduate of UC Berkeley (B.A. Social Welfare & Education) and Fordham University (M.S.W.), Amelia is committed to strengthening leaders and communities through service, thought partnership, and healing-centered, identity-affirming practice.
JANET ATCHAN FOLLINGS - BOARD MEMBER
Janet Atchan Follings, MBA, ENP, serves as the Assistant Deputy Director of the Division of Emergency Communications for the Department of Emergency Management for the City and County of San Francisco, bringing more than 34 years of dedicated public service to the community she proudly calls home. In her leadership role, she plays a pivotal part in ensuring public safety and strengthening citywide resilience through effective emergency management and communications strategies.
A proud fourth-generation San Franciscan from the Western Addition, Janet’s roots in the City run deep. She holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of San Francisco, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, and dual Associate of Science degrees in Criminal Justice—Law Enforcement and Corrections—from Solano College. Her academic background reflects a lifelong commitment to leadership, justice, and public service.
Janet’s career and life are grounded in strong family ties and close friendships that have long been a source of strength and inspiration. She values the power of community and meaningful relationships. An avid traveler, she embraces opportunities to connect with diverse cultures, broaden her perspective, and bring those insights back to enrich both her work and community engagement.
Beyond her professional achievements, Janet is a dedicated member of the San Francisco First African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church and remains deeply committed to empowering Black communities through leadership development and community-driven initiatives that foster growth, equity, and opportunity.
TERRELL HENDERSON - BOARD MEMBER
Terrell Henderson is a mission-driven leader with more than 20 years of experience serving youth, adults, and families across the San Francisco Bay Area. As a Senior Director at GLIDE, he is dedicated to helping individuals overcome barriers, build emotional resilience, and create sustainable pathways to success.
Born and raised in San Francisco’s Fillmore–Western Addition, Terrell brings deep cultural understanding and a trauma-informed approach to his work. A certified Emotional Intelligence Coach, he integrates EQ principles into coaching, facilitation, and leadership development to empower meaningful behavior change.
Terrell’s career includes impactful roles with the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department’s PREP program, YMCA Urban Services’ Truancy Intervention Program, UCSF’s Wraparound Project, and Success Centers, where he helped launch a citywide Leadership Academy for African American nonprofit executives and developed the groundbreaking Credible Messenger Program at the Youth Guidance Center.
He holds a B.A. in Humanities with an emphasis in Leadership and Communications from Washington State University and is an MSNPA candidate. Rooted in integrity, compassion, and community, Terrell is committed to advancing healing, leadership, and opportunity through his service on The Purpose Bridge Inc. board.
TONJA CARRINGTON - TREASURER
Tonja Carrington is a seasoned Marketing, Branding, and Communications Executive with more than 20 years of experience leading enterprise-level strategy across the financial services and telecommunications industries. She specializes in building strong brand identities, driving engagement, and supporting organizational growth.
Tonja is deeply committed to education and community impact. She serves as a Scholarship Facilitator for Fernando Middle School and Jefferson High School and sits on the Executive Board of the Robert T. Moss Memorial Scholarship Foundation. She is also a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the NCNW San Francisco Section.
She holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of San Francisco, a BS in Professional and Technical Communication from Rochester Institute of Technology, and an Advanced Certificate in Strategic Branding and Public Relations from UCLA. Tonja brings strategic insight, financial stewardship, and a service-driven mindset to her role as Treasurer of The Purpose Bridge Inc.
